Staffordshire Chess Association
About the County:

The Staffordshire Chess Association is the association that deals with all clubs and competitions which are organised within the county of Staffordshire. According to the constitution, this is defined as the county of Staffordshire and the areas covered by the Walsall and Wolverhampton district councils. It also covers Sandwell district council as well. Any team who are based in Staffordshire are eligible for membership, even if they don't play in a county league. In addition, any teams who play in a league which is based in Staffordshire is eligible for membership, including Holmes Chapel and Macclesfield who play in the Stoke league. The SCA do not run any leagues themselves, but they are responsible for four county cup competitions.

The county association covers the county of Staffordshire.

The association covers all teams who play in a league based in Staffordshire, or who are located in Staffordshire. This includes teams such as Holmes Chapel who are eligible to play in Staffordshire County events as they play in a league based in Staffordshire.

The Staffordshire Chess Association comprises of all teams, leagues and associations that play in Staffordshire. As well as governing and assisting all these, they also organise county cups as well as teams in the Midlands County Chess Union (MCCU). While there are no county leagues, they are still very active in Chess and have their own committee and funding.
